Description
Charnwood Aire 3 Wood Burning Stove
The Charnwood Aire 3 is a compact wood-burning stove, the smallest stove produced by Charnwood. Designed for smaller spaces. This Charnwood fireplace comfortable produces 5KW at the top end with a nominal output of 3.6KW. This should keep you warm in a space of between 90 and 125 cubic metres of volume.
British made by Charnwood, the Aire 3 combines a large ceramic glass window with clean-burning technology and simple air control. Designed to provide a clear view of the fire while delivering controllable wood-fired heat.
Compact Wood Burning Stove
The Aire 3 has a 3.7 kW rated heat output, with a recommended operating range of 1.5–5 kW. This makes it a compact heating option for smaller rooms and spaces.
Designed for smaller spaces, including cabins, yurts and tiny homes, as well as conventional homes.
One reason is the ‘tiny home’ movement sweeping South Africa. More people are living smaller. A clean burning solid fuel appliance is an ideal solution for a small space. Few cast iron fireplace are able to match the Aire 3’s test results in terms of clean burning which is not the case with the vast majority of small heaters. Many small spaces rely on poor quality and dangerous appliances to heat and cook on.
The large ceramic glass window is a key part of the design, providing a clear view of the fire while the stove’s combustion system is designed to maintain a clean burn.
Clear View of the Fire
The Aire 3 has been designed to maximise the view of the fire. Its large ceramic glass window provides a prominent view of the flames from the room.
Charnwood incorporates Cleanburn Airwash Technology to help maintain the glass and support clean combustion. The stove also uses a Quattroflow Air Management System for controlling the air supplied to the fire.
A single air control provides straightforward operation, while the cool-to-touch handle is designed to make reloading easier.
Efficient Wood Burning
The Charnwood Aire 3 has a published net efficiency of 86%. Listed as SIA Eco Design Ready and has a ClearSkies rating of 5.
The stove also features a drop-down throat plate, which allows the chimney to be swept through the stove, and a sliding firebed for easier ash removal.
Designed for Smaller Spaces
The compact size of the Aire 3 makes it suitable for applications where space is limited. Charnwood highlights cabins, yurts and tiny homes as suitable applications, while its freestanding design also works in conventional residential interiors.
For South African homeowners, the Aire 3 provides a compact wood-burning heating option where a lower heat output is appropriate for the space.
