The Charnwood Skye 7 is a modern wood burning fireplace with a clean, minimalist design and a soft contemporary edge.

With a 7 kW rated output and a heat output range of 5–11 kW, the Skye 7 is designed to provide substantial heat for larger living spaces. It will heat around 275m³ of room space. This version is supplied with the Store Stand, which raises the stove while providing an integrated area for storing firewood.

The Skye 7 is also capable of burning suitable solid fuels, making it a versatile multi-fuel stove.

The Skye 7 cast iron fireplace is the larger of the two Skye stoves in the series so there is a Skye stove to suit smaller and medium sized spaces. Like it’s smaller counterpart (the Skye 5), the Skye 7 is made from a combination of boiler plate steel and cast iron with a 10 year guarantee and, as a result, provides the best combination of durability and control.

7 kW Wood Burning Stove

The Charnwood Skye 7 has a rated heat output of 7 kW, with a working range from 5 to 11 kW.

When burning wood, the stove achieves 80% net efficiency. Its stated efficiency when burning solid fuel is 81%.

The Skye 7 accommodates logs up to 410 mm (16 inches) long, giving it a substantial firebox for a stove of its clean-lined design.

Modern Minimalist Design

The Skye range combines a classically minimal appearance with a soft modern edge.

The cast iron casing gives the Skye 7 its distinctive appearance, while its simple push/pull air control makes the stove straightforward to operate.

The Skye 7 is available in a choice of eight Charnwood colours, allowing the stove to complement different interior styles.

Clean-Burning Technology

The Skye 7 incorporates Charnwood’s Cleanburn Airwash Technology and Quattroflow Air Management System.

These technologies are designed to support efficient combustion and help maintain a clear view of the fire through the ceramic glass.

The Skye 7 is SIA Eco Design Ready and exceeds the Ecodesign standards specified by Charnwood. It is also DEFRA exempt for burning wood in UK smoke control areas.

Multi-Fuel Capability

Although commonly searched for as a Charnwood Skye 7 wood burning stove, this model can also burn suitable solid fuels.

The Skye 7 incorporates a converting grate, allowing it to be used as a multi-fuel stove. Charnwood provides separate efficiency figures for wood and solid fuel.

For wood burning, properly seasoned firewood should be used according to the manufacturer’s operating instructions.

Store Stand

The Charnwood Skye 7 Store Stand gives the stove a taller freestanding profile while providing space underneath for storing firewood.

The Store Stand configuration measures approximately 568 mm wide, 390 mm deep and 858 mm high. The Store Stand version weighs approximately 177 kg.

This configuration works particularly well where the stove is intended to be a prominent feature within the room.

Flue Connection

The Skye 7 uses a 150 mm (6-inch) flue outlet, with top or rear flue connection options.

A vertical rear flue adaptor is available as a customisation option. Charnwood also lists a flue boiler as an available option.

Installation should follow the manufacturer’s requirements together with applicable South African regulations. Correct flue design, clearances and hearth requirements are important when installing any wood burning stove.
