Charnwood Island II Wood Burning Fireplace
The Charnwood Island II is a large, traditional wood burning Fireplace designed to provide substantial heat while creating a strong focal point in the room.
This redesigned Island model features a larger picture window, twin doors and Charnwood’s BLU clean-burning technology. With an 8 kW rated output and a heat output range of 5–11 kW, it is suited to larger living spaces and homes.
The Island II is also a multi-fuel stove, allowing it to burn wood and other suitable solid fuels. When burning wood, it achieves an efficiency of 82%.
The Charnwood Island 2 Freestanding Fireplace is the middle stove in the Island collection. Optional convection panels are also available and it can take a log length of up to 440mm (17”). This Charnwood fireplace may burn wood logs in smoke control areas if fitted with a smoke reduction kit
The Charnwood Island II cast iron fireplace achieved test results in Europe of 82% efficiency on wood and 79% on other solid fuels. It also achieved extremely low smoke particle level of 14mg/m3 (the Eco-design limit is 40mg/m3). This means that this stove is a responsible choice for those seeking minimal impact on the environment.

Large 8 kW Wood Burning Stove
With an 8 kW nominal output and a range of 5–11 kW, the Charnwood Island II provides a higher level of heat for larger rooms.
The stove accommodates logs up to 480 mm (19 inches) long, making it well suited to larger fires and extended periods of heating.
Large Picture Window
The redesigned Island II has a significantly larger picture window than the previous Island design.
The twin-door configuration gives the stove a traditional appearance while providing a broad view of the flames. The design works well as a statement wood burning stove in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
Clean-Burning Technology
The Island II incorporates Charnwood’s BLU burning technology, Cleanburn Airwash and Quattroflow Air Management System.
These systems are designed to support cleaner combustion and help keep the ceramic glass clearer during operation. Charnwood states that the Island II produces just 14 mg/m³ of smoke particles when burning wood, well below the 2022 Ecodesign limit of 40 mg/m³.
The stove is also SIA Eco Design Ready and exceeds the relevant Ecodesign performance requirements.
Multi-Fuel Capability
Although often searched for as a Charnwood Island II wood burning stove, the Island II is a multi-fuel model.
Its converting grate allows the stove to accommodate wood and suitable solid fuels. Charnwood’s technical information lists separate efficiency and emissions figures for wood and solid fuel.

Island II Stand Options
The Charnwood Island II can be configured with different bases, including low legs, high legs and a Store Stand.
The Store Stand raises the stove while providing an integrated area for storing firewood. The high-leg version gives the stove a taller appearance and places the fire higher within the room.
